The first half will feature Divertimento KV 137 and Divertimento KV 138. After the interval, the orchestra will play Quatuor KV 173 and Divertimento KV 136.
Stradivaria was the brain child of Daniel Cuiller, who in 1987 decided to set up an orchestra that specialises in Baroque music from the 17th century. The musicians make a point of putting rare scores under the spotlight.
The group get their name from the famous Stradivarius violin which is closely related to the Baroque period. The musicians often choose pieces written for stringed instruments.
Though Baroque is the over-riding theme, Stradivaria often branch out to perform music from the Romantic and Classical eras. They have performed more than 40 concerts all over the world and are currently on a tour of Asia.
The performances in the capital on Friday and HCM City on Saturday both start at 8pm. The venues for both are the Ha Noi Opera House, 1 Trang Tien Street, and HCM City's Conservatory, 112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1.
Tickets range from VND100,000-70,000-50,000 and are on sale in Ha Noi at the Opera House and l'Espace, the French culture centre, 24 Trang Tien Street; and at l'IDECAF in HCM City, 31 Thai Van Lung Street, District 1.
