HCM City: Seven passengers with temperatures negative for A/H1N1

VietNamNet Bridge – Seven passengers stopped on March 3 at Tan Son Nhat Airport due to having high temperatures are negative for the A/H1N1 virus, announced the HCM City Department of Health this morning.

The Tan Son Nhat Airport welcomes thousands of international visitors per day.

These seven people, two children and five adults, were registered as having fevers by the temperature measurers at the airport yesterday. They were immediately isolated for testing. All passengers on their flights were also isolated.

Tests showed that all of them are negative for A/H1N1 flu, announced the HCM City Department of Health’s Director Nguyen Van Chau this morning. However, these people will stay under surveillance for 10-15 days.

Meanwhile, the Hanoi Department of Health has bought two more temperature measurers for Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

The airport currently has three temperature measurers, which were installed in 2003, when the SARS boomed. However, two of them have some problems so the Hanoi Department of Health decided to buy two more from the US, worth around VND900 million ($53,000). The machines will arrive in Vietnam in several days.

Today, the Health Ministry will hold an online dialogue to answer any questions about A/H1N1 flu.
